The Diocese of Gary Catholic Committee on Scouting (DGCCS) is a committee affliliated with the Diocese of Gary Indiana serving scouts in both the Calumet Council and LaSalle Concil. The Committee is dedicated to promoting "Duty to God" at each level of Scouting. We are affiliated with the National Catholic Committee on Scouting.

The DGCCS seeks to provide support to parishes to help Catholic youth particpate in Scouting as Youth Ministry. DGCCS reaches out to indivdual scouts, packs, venture crews, and troops and their families through retreats, days of reflection, adult training and other programing. Central to the mission of DGCCS are the religious emblems and awards for Catholic Scouts to grow in their Catholic faith and the ideals of scouting. These programs can be learned about in this website. Each year the Catholic Committee sponsors the Bishop's Award's Ceremony to honor scouts who have earned Religious Emblems during the prior year.

The GGCCS is able to accomplish all it does through the dedication of many Scouters who donate their time and energy. Adults who are interested in joining the Catholic Committee are enouraged to contact the committee
